Happy Christmas
Over the years, as friends and family have left us, our holiday traditions have changed. In recent years, it has been part of our Christmas celebration to go into NYC, pick up my bestie Kura, walk up Fifth Avenue to see the store window displays and then end up at a fabulous French steakhouse for steaks and frites. Since we moved MIL up here nearly 2 years ago, our annual outing with Kura has moved to Christmas Eve so that we can spend Christmas day with MIL.
The weather was perfect - cold enough to feel like Christmas but without wind or precipitation and not so cold that your nose turns red. The store windows weren't as good as some years in the past - more commercial this year and less whimsical. And the throngs of people were just as they are every year - intense. But it was great fun. And, of course, we had to stop and admire the tree at Rockefeller Center, seen here. It now finally feels like Christmas to me. And the steak and frites were fabulous, as always!
Take a look at Extras for a shot that Hubs took of Kura and I, and a shot that I took which, if you look closely, has the reflections of Hubs and I. In both cases, a lot of balls featured - make of that what you will.
Happy Christmas Eve - or, if you don't celebrate, then Happy Tuesday!
