Teasel with a cap

I actually got out for a walk before church! It actually flurried overnight.! It was supposed to rain. Since we are heartily sick of rain  I will take the gloomy gray skies and smile since they brought a little snow instead.

This is of course getting out late because we wandered around the local museum, the original part of which was a wealthy  lumber baron's mansion. They have Christmas trees up sponsored by different organizations, which are scattered all throughout he museum, a quilt exhibit and exhibits of Christmas's in different countries where immigrants to this area have come from. Because of the Endicott Johnson shoe factories ( now out of business since the 80's) there were a lot of Polish , Slovak and Italian immigrants here, but also a smattering of Irish , Welsh and French. Later immigrants included the Philippines and Mexico. ( and still later and not included in the displays Vietnam , Cambodia, India , Pakistan etc.) . The mansion is gorgeous at Christmas so it was a nice afternoon. ( Deserved after the last minute grocery shopping  that preceded it .) And then I spent the rest of the night cooking.:)
