A Pop-up Pond

Dear Diary,

After the torrential rains last Friday, there are several of these "pop-up ponds" in my area.  This one is at the end of my street.  Since the ground was frozen and there was a snow cover, low lying areas flooded.  Now the little ponds are freezing over.  I suspect many kids will be getting new skates for Christmas tomorrow and these places would be ideal to try them out.

A bit of last minute shopping today to get things for Christmas dinner for Emerson and I and then we settle in for a quiet and peaceful Christmas.  We might get a fresh dusting of snow today, I hope so, but we already have our white Christmas so we are quite happy.
