Sally Mair - Loving life

Kinky boots

I was around in the 60's when Kinky Boots were a fashion item.... I rather think they were the first fashion alternative to wellingtons!
Mine were a dull beige colour, mid-calf length and certainly not fitted to my leg - they had a zip I think too. The following year things got more adventurous and you could buy longer boots which were very fitted and made of some sort of stretchy fabric which had a mock patent surface to them, I didn't have those sadly, my heavy valves would not have liked good in them.
These, on display in Jenners, are advertising the show currently on at the Playhouse. I don't think I could ever have managed to either get boots like this on, or, if having done so, been able to move about in them in spite of my love of high heels. Well done to anybody who can.
On other topics, church this morning then getting ready for our Christingle service tomorrow. Into town to the Refinery to meet our niece and great niece for a late lunch, very nice food, I'd not been there before.
Back home for another present wrapping session, almost all done now and I managed to get the Christmas cake finished too. Sadly in spite of buying red food colouring, rather than the pink on offer, my icing poinsettia is decidedly pink rather than red. Never mind it'll taste fine.

14168 steps today. ..... But not in these boots!
