Nature Diary... Bloomin' Lovely
Partially sheltered from the worst of the weather the Christmas Cactus has so far not dropped any buds this year although, strangely, all the buds which didn't drop last year opened into white flowers. Just as beautiful it looks though with its blushing pink blooms.
The tiny Violas never seem to fare well outside so this year they too are sheltered from the worst of the weather and seem to be doing quite nicely thank you.
The tiny red Christmas Cactus in the foreground is the one I featured on November 15th, 'the survivor' of the tiny remains of the parent plant most of which had died.
These form a nice entrance to our front door and bring a touch of nature's delicate beauty in the middle of winter.
