Elena
Ms Davis, at 97, is another of the town's grand ladies. She's a writer amongst other things, and though she proclaimed herself to be retired she still has plenty to say. I had a brief coffee and a chat while trying to get a couple of shots without intimidating her with the camera. She was then off to drive into Palma to look after a friend. Shirley's article will come soon, so I won't write more about her now.
Whilst waiting for Elena, I called into Cafe Paris. Consternation! Disaster! The coffee machine had broken just after I got my con leche. You should have seen the faces as people were told they couldn't have their daily fix, unless it was decaff from a sobre (packet). Mateu, on his day off, walked past with a wry smile. Let them deal with it! Very wise.
