Fine and Dandy

For about four years, when I was a lad, I used to go every Saturday for my piano lessons. I would always be early, sometimes arriving before the person whose lesson was before mine. Do not mistake this for enthusiasm to learn to play the piano.

My piano teacher's wife would answer the door and show me in. I would sit in the hallway in an upright chair where there would be current copies of The Beano and The Dandy. I would read them from cover to cover while waiting for my lesson.

Today the last printed edition of The Dandy was published. From now on it will be available online. I guess that I could get a tablet and not only be able to read The Dandy but I could also learn to play keyboard on there too. A sign of the times.
