A Piece Of The Action
Not that there was a lot of it in the goal mouths in this afternoon's 1-1 draw between Yeovil and Northampton until the 88th minute when Northampton took the lead courtesy of one of their 4 ex-Yeovil players Andy Williams ( a good player who invariably scores against us); a minute later we equalised through a spectacular shot from 40 yards out from our sub Yoann Arquin which was going in from the moment it left his foot.
It wasn't a great game but was marginally more exciting than the pre-match and half time entertainment which included a police officer in full uniform doing 22 press ups for charity, the club mascot, The Jolly Green Giant, liberated from his usual top hat and green and white giant suit and wearing a Santa outfit while doing the same dance moves he always does (badly) and a man dressed as a Christmas tree organising a relay race around the pitch for youngsters dressed as elves. We know how to celebrate the festive season at Huish Park.
Chris & I had enjoyed a pre-match Christmas meal at a nearby hostelry and wondered if someone had spiked our diet cokes when we witnessed all this.
