Luminous in the Dark
Inbetween joining Churches Together to sing carols in our local shopping area, shopping, and having family for lunch and dinner, managed a quick trot around Blackroot Pool. Loved the patterns this pair made in the water, very feminine!
Advent reading was the revolutionary song Mary sang when she visited her cousin, Elizabeth, in Luke 1:46-56:
My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour...
It feels obligatory to look happy at this time of year, to hide away the poor, the refugees, the oppressors and oppressed, and my own pain and failures... and yet, in spite of all that, I refuse to shut myself away, I will stand up, like Mary, and lift my voice, and of all those who suffer, to thank God for his presence that makes me believe once again in the light which is brighter than any night.
(If you read Mary's song, you will see how revolutionary it was.)
