Summer solstice 2018

I slept later than the sunrise this morning so a sunrise photo for the solstice was not a possibility. Then I recalled that the summer solstice in New Zealand is that moment when the South Pole is most inclined toward the sun. That is not necessarily at sunrise; indeed much more often than not it is at neither sunrise nor sunset.

Further thought (actually not very deep nor prolonged thinking was involved) led to the decision to photograph my mobile showing the time of the solstice. 

A fair number of years have passed since the photo I have as "wallpaper"on the phone was taken. It was not at the solstice.
