First frost

It's a fact that if you look at a weather forecast for Canada that Vancouver will be a mild 7C or so, and just to the left* areas will be in the -20C's. Up in Yellowknife it's been -30C this week and similar in Whitehorse. We are reassured of our decision to go to Whistler instead of hoping to see the Northern Lights up north, I'm not sure I would have been willing to venture outside! Vancouver saw it's first frost of the year this morning, the grass was crunchy until the sun came up. We have been living here for almost a year and I still find the variations in the temperatures across the country fascinating, it is such a huge place it is difficult to contemplate.
