Arizona Style

I try to take a photo of my next door neighbors decorated Giant Saguaro every year, so today was the day.  It seemed a perfect time to go along with an Arizona sunset.

I almost didn't make it home in time to get it.  I had a doctor appointment way out on the northern edge of Tucson at 2:30.  My sleep dental appliance which cracked in half last weekend had to be fixed.  I can't get deep/REM sleep without it.  Traffic was pretty heavy when I got on the freeway around 1 pm but driving home was a nightmare.  I only made one stop (Trader Joe's for two things) after seeing the doctor but never gave any thought to the fact that rush hour would start earlier than usual today - the Friday before a four-day Christmas holiday.  The Department of transportation was in a holiday mood, though.  The overhead signs read:
"Speeding? Yule regret it"
