Winter Solstice

Flower Friday... the first day of the start of the Christmas holidays.

Spent a frantic morning at the foodbank handing out as much food as was possible in the two hour window.  The place was packed and we didn't run out of food which was tremendous.  Someone came in with 7 frozen turkeys so the first 7 people through the door were given one if they were able to cook it... a real buzz to be able to help them through this long period of no support.  People are so generous.. 
I had a lovely walk with Flossie in the full view of the Solstice Moon.. it was a beautiful late afternoon walk and we met Flossies little friend Winnie the Swiss Mountain Dog.. when l say little l mean young really since she is the size of a swiss mountain but so playful.  Flossie came home covered in mud from being rolled over and over in their games... a lovely walk on the shortest day.
I have just heard my eldest daughter is about to get in the car to drive home for the holidays.. do hope the traffic is not too bad and that we can all enjoy supper together this evening... happy holidays all..
