Waiting for Dinner

We've arrived in Umkhuze Game Reserve and settled into a dodgy looking tent; park instructions are to secure against baboons when you're away but we have holes in the fly screen and the back zip doesn't close! And it's hot - '40C, feels like 44C' - but the camp has a pool, yahoo!
Noticed this guy while we were having dinner. It had its eye on a nearby stick insect but should have had its other eye on the charcoal bag it was standing on because one more step and it fell off. Hey, it's a jungle out here.

The bird is a Yellow-beaked Hornbill, spotted on a late afternoon drive in the park. (We were hoping to book a guided night drive but the guide has taken the next week off. Well it is peak holiday season after all.)
