Harvesting the honey

I thought the bees were "hanging" out too much and was trying to avoid a swarm moving out of the hive so decided we should extract the hive.  We took out 18 frames for the 3 spin extractor and ended up with 29 kgs of gorgeous  runny honey. There are 4 more hives to do in January but what to do with all that honey!

It wasn't without a challenge though as P got a bee inside his veil and as he moved off he removed it.  There were dozens of other bees still hovering round him trying to figure out what their friend was upset about so they zoomed onto P's head.  He probably got 6 stings. Good job he no reaction, and he came back out to finish the job.  Good on him.
