Out with our assistants

I went out with a few of our teaching assistants tonight and it was a good evening. Most of them are Egyptian so it’s interesting hearing their stories of how they came to be in Kuwait. Some were born here and some came for work. You may recognise Doaa as I’ve blipped her before. I discovered tonight that she’s here on her own which is very unusual for a woman to be allowed to do. Some who do usually have other family members here but she doesn’t. She lives in teachers’ accommodation, has her own car and works very hard in one of the more difficult schools. Jumana lives with her family and is completing university.

We’ll definitely be meeting again like this.
