In the heat of the chase

It was, for a time, a lovely sunny morning, and Janet and I simply sat out under the Sun for a time, revelling in the luxury of it. Drifting away, I waffled a few lines of doggerel, while she worked on continuing not to scream in pain. Yes, we're still in the thick of it, I'm afraid. It's possible the midwinter feasting may be a tad curtailed for one of us.

In other news this is our new great stag in the heat of the chase, reminding us of the inner fire of the Sun that is shortly to "stop" in the sky for a day or so, before regaining his power into the New Year.

I've mentioned before our tree is decorated with reminders and momentos from across the planet, and this is a gift from good friends only slightly to the south. It joins with koala bears from Australia and reindeer from Sweden and camels from (cough) India and Eggs from Austria, oh, and the sixty year old fairy in the crepe paper tutu.

Other trees might be prettier, but ours is a story. By the way... Are your teeth tingling in sympathy? No? Just me then.
