To Stromness for a walk today. It wasn't easy, in strong wind which made the rain sting our faces. We spent more time browsing the shops and the Pier Art Gallery, and in the tearoom, than walking, which was a wise decision.

Afterwards a delicious lunch at D's, who surprised us by producing a DVD of 'The wheeltappers and shunters club' from 1974, purchased at a car boot sale. We all agreed that while it's easy to think some things were done better in the past, an awful lot has improved beyond measure in the last forty years.
