My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

I went to the cable car yesterday to go home to find a MASSIVE queue of people right out of the gates.

This is because that was December 17th - and the "Ovation of the Seas" was in town.

One thing you may not appreciate about Wellington is when a cruise ship docks, it completely dominates the CBD. It's quite a small area - much smaller than Edinburgh city centre. So a sudden INFLUX of elderly Americans feels like the Zombie Apocalypse in board-shorts and fanny-packs. It's like Edinburgh during the festival, but in a much smaller burst, in a more confined area.

Today was much quieter - and I got home in an almost empty cable car. But, trust me, I shall be staying well away from the CBD from the 26th to the 28th.
