Caught by the ice

Two days ago we had a storm and our dear lake Saimaa was furious. The storm broke almost every rope between this sailing boat and the quay and the boat was drifting. Rescue department fixed the ropes and yesterday the water froze. Today I went to harbour again to photograph this poor boat and met a gentleman, who appeared to be an experienced sailor. He has a habit to visit the harbour daily.

He told me that this sailing boat is made of steel and it doesn't get damaged in the freezing lake. This is the only sailing boat which had been left in the water. Some old steely tugboats are keeping company until next spring.
