Still feeling completely wretched but the spaniel needs walking so we set off on our afternoon walk at 14:20 under brilliant blue skies and in warm sunshine. I was hoping for a glorious winter sunset and had just the right vantage point in mind but when we arrived at the appointed time thick dark clouds had rolled in from across the South Downs.
