Pine cones

Twenty five years ago a young Italian friend gave me an Italian stone pine seedling, saying - 'if global warming happens you'll be able to grow your own pine nuts'
Twenty five years later it's a chunky 15ft tree and I was very happy to pick these cones from it today.
I can't wait to see if there really are any pine nuts inside them!
