Third week of Advent
One of my favorite things about Advent is the lighting of the candles at dinner. On the first Sunday of Advent, we light one candle and think about the prophets who first shed light on the coming of Jesus, our Savior. Then the second week, we light two candles to commemorate the angelic pronouncements which added to the light given by the prophets.
On the third week, we celebrate the shepherds who increased the light of the good news of Jesus by going to tell others.
Next Sunday, we will light all four candles in anticipation of the coming of the “Light of the World.”
