The Rock

This is the second highest peak on the rock of Gibraltar.  It might have been clear and sunny, but it was blowing a hooley and pretty cold out of the sun. The cable car to the peak was cancelled because of the wind, and I had to take a taxi up.  About a quarter of the way down, on the right hand side, you can just see the Skywalk glass viewing platform.  Steps wind up from there to the very top, with sheer drops beyond a low stone wall.

There is also every chance you will encounter one of the rock's famous Barbary apes.  My extra shows one of them surveying his kingdom from high up on the north side, from where he had an imperious view of the Spanish coast.
