Death of an Archway

The wind and rain earlier in the week killed the archway. As I was surveying the damage I met my neighbour this morning. He loves his garden too and we spent about half an hour talking shrubs and trees, by which time I could no longer feel my feet. As you can see, we had a bit of snow on the ground this morning. It got warmer for a while, but the wind has just picked up again and it's feeling pretty arctic. So it's back into the house for a bit of homemade soup and Downton Abbey :-)
