What's on the computer today...

Woke up this morning to a grinding, humming, whirring noise.  And no heating.  The coldest night of the year and the boiler's has packed in.  Most rooms haven't got above 12c all day, fortunately my office, kitchen and the lounge have independent means of heating albeit for background use only.  Those rooms have reached the giddy tropical heights of 18c.  Brrrr....

Told the boiler man what had happened and I heard him suck through his teeth as he said, "That doesn't sound good" which means 'expensive'.  I didn't see it but I'm sure he rubbed his hands with glee.
