Winter pond

One of the local ponds on a pretty uninspiring day. A bit stressed today as I have to present tomorrow at a conference at Jesus College, Cambridge, and I'm very rusty on my specialist subject. Haven't spoken or written about work much since I stopped doing it. Not allowed to hide behind Powerpoint either.

I used to do quite a bit of presenting but it's been a while. I'm wondering right now why I agreed to it as my life has moved on. I'll need to get up early and get on the motorway whereas I'd much prefer to be sitting at my desk with my little dog at my shoulder.

They're mostly a bunch of economics professors and HR directors - the dismal science meets the dismal profession. I wonder if any of them blip?

PS: I only linked to the book to explain why I'm there, not to promote sales, although if you like social history as opposed to one conquest after another it might appeal.
