The Twirl

I took the Birthday Boy out for lunch today.  The original plan was to go for dinner, but I called and changed the reservation to lunch because we're supposed to get high winds tonight. It was already blowing a hoolie in town when we got there, although there was barely a breath of wind at home. G had to pick up a couple of things, so while he was doing that, I went for a brisk walk through the market (surprised that it was happening, but then it's nearly Christmas). It was bloody cold and I liked the little fire for warming up in the extra. I was happy to get into the warmth of Auntie Pesto's. G had Pasta Puttanesca (of course!) and I had Roma - both delicious as usual. So much food, enough left over for supper or lunch tomorrow. No leftover wine though, but then we only had one glass each. It's rare for us to have a drink during the day, but hey, it is his birthday!
The family called to wish Dad/Gramps Happy Birthday, and Kalyn's boyfriend also called, a nice surprise.  Looking forward to seeing them all soon.
