Pets with Santa

Last year when I did this event, I thought getting a rabbit to pose with Santa was cool.  But that was nothing compared to seeing a woman and a toddler walk in today with ... a skunk!  Nor did anything prepare me for how soft and cuddly it was.  Turns out that it was turned in by someone who kept "exotic" pets and the current owner went through the rather extensive hoops and permits to be able to adopt it - obviously, being de-scented and fully imprinted on humans, it wasn't able to be released into the wild.  Anyway, Bandit was definitely the most unique pet of the day.

A very fun time and the owner of the store was able to raise some money for two local animal shelters, so a day well spent.  Tomorrow I will do extensive edits and send the images out to be printed.   The backgrounds are very messy, so I expect to do quite a bit of editing.  

This year, we only had one "piddler" who decided to squat right in front of Santa's chair and leave a puddle.  Thankfully, it was at the end of the day; otherwise I'm sure every other dog would have been attempting to mark the spot.
