Sophie On Ice

It's Sophie's 4th birthday today so, as a birthday treat, we took her ice skating for the first time ever, at the Tropicana at Weston-super-Mare.

She took to the ice both literally and metaphorically: at first she was happy sitting on the seal-shaped aid, then pushing it and by the end she was skating just holding hands with one of us.

By way of celebration, I'm inflicting a family photo onyou including a rare appearance by yours truly, courtesy of a fellow skater who offered to do the honours. I did take some of my own, honest!

Kate's friend and work colleague Lauren joined us but was busy taking photos of her own. Afterwards we went to a local ice cream parlour for celebratory sundaes or crepes.
