Mug memory

I had a cup of tea in this mug for the first time ever today. I’ve never really liked the shape of it but I do like the memory it evokes. I was presented this mug in Hong Kong after an event that I had organised for 10 years of our degree program with students. I’ve managed to bring together well over 120 students and staff from each of the years we have been teaching. Anyway at one point they got on stage and began to sing a song on my behalf to thank me for all my efforts and then presented me with this mug and other things. It was an emotional moment as was the whole evening seeing students had not seen for some considerable time. It was a joyous evening full of fun and laughter and memories and at the end of the day it’s what teaching can bring when it goes right.
