Erratic
I took Ollie dog with me up the hill to Harold's Park Farm plantation to get our Christmas tree. It was beautifully sunny, if a bit cold and we had a lovely walk along the ridge with great views either side.
I asked the farmer what the big rock was in his lawn. He said his late father had found it in one of the fields and they think it was brought to the area by a glacier as there is no rock like it locally. It looks like sandstone to me and could be sarsen. I was pleased that I remembered the term erratic for such stones from 'O' level geography. The farmer's dog Morna is checking it out with me and the Rye House power station can be seen in the Lee Valley below.
