Frozen ground

To the allotment today for a couple of hours, along with a few other of the 1/4-plotholders. Digging was out of the question as the ground was completely frozen (the thermometer on the car said it was -4 while I was scraping the windows), but we had a good go at clearing some of the old dividing fencing and overgrown bits and bobs, as well as clearing away a load of crap (broken glass, rubbish, broken slabs etc) and getting a good pile ready for burning. I don't think we're going to be able to dig this side of the new year, but if we can spend a few hours each weekend we should be able to clear it as well as possible ready for digging later.

It was nice to meet some of the other folk and chat, we only met briefly last week when they showed us the allotment. Hopefully this will be a fruitful partnership!
