Edinburgh’s Winter Wonderland

This is the view of the winter wonderland that is central Edinburgh before the tourists hit the ground running. I write this with a healthy amount of cynicism.
I was on my way into town to have a coffee at the ‘Ladies Club’, so called by HL, but which is actually the Virgin coffee lounge, before trying to do some Christmas and birthday shopping. I failed on both fronts and trudged home with only one offering, grossly overpriced body lotion from Lush for a Granddaughter. I will have to think again.

Meanwhile the lawyer is nit picking at my heels wanting extra information, and people are phoning me up to offer sympathy which is really lovely, but leaves me less time to do anything on the domestic front.

The comforting gin/wine and chocolates regime in the evening will have to stop. I have poured the dregs of 3 bottles of wine down the sink and will start behaving sensibly again- no alcohol and a rationing of chocolate.
