Pippin fort

Captain Snort was looking forward to visiting the Fort to check that all was well with the little town below. The unrelenting drizzle had other ideas however and the brave Captain had to retreat after just a couple of minutes. The soldier boys were nowhere to be seen and the Captain's busby had to be carefully dried and stored away until the next time.

The pic. was taken from a Civil War Fort which was used as a lookout by Cromwell's men for Cavaliers sailing up the river below.
