Ort

Posting this on 12 December 2018, Dani Ort's birthday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ort is the German for "place" and also the surname of a wonderful family who had become our next door neighbours four days earlier on 31st March when we moved into our new home in Grosskitzighofen a very rural village about 50km to the south west of Munich.

The family from the word go when we showed interest in buying the farm were simply so helpful and in fact, without them, the entire project would never have happened.

Here they were grabbing a snack as they helped build some part of our horse stables - From left to right Papa Sepp (known to everyone except us as "Bobby", Mum Heidi, middle child Dani and youngest Dominic. Eldest child Kathrin was probably out and about being "chased" by the local lads.

While we were all working hard, Angie was lying in bed - in hospital having broken her leg on the very first day we moved in! Tripped up on the cellar steps.

The whole family are still, 23 years later, good friends.
