Seattle Amtrak Station
Our trains don't run on time. Our ride home started 2 hours late and arrived in Portland after 4, instead of 3 hours: so overall a 3 hour delay.
But what a marvelous trip it was! All the way home we savored, replayed, and lingered over favorite moments.
On our last night in Seattle we enjoyed a romantic dinner at an almost-hidden art deco restaurant glittering with gay clientele: sea scallops cooked to perfection, an aerial gymnast for live entertainment, restrooms segregated by shoe styles rather than genders. We had a perfectly-situated table facing the trapeze, overlooking a bartender who skillfully set sugared goblets on fire to create caramel rims for coffee drinks. We played at being sophisticated.
Note: this is not a drone photo. The Seattle station has a balcony.
