Victorian Christmas 2
As feared, the original Christmas Tree purchased by the Master of the House failed to make it into the Drawing Room - in fact it caused no end of damage in the attempt. Not to be defeated, a new tree was purchased, and this time with lots of help from the family and staff the tree was safely installed, with everyone agreeing that they could live without both doors opening, and kept their fingers crossed that the Grandfather Clock would keep going after it having to be moved.
The Upstairs Maid was exhausted by now, so having delivered the afternoon tea she took advantage of a few minutes on her own to sit down for a break and enjoy the afternoon sun. I hope the Mistress of the House doesn't come back too soon to catch her!
Another scene from my 1/12th scale (1inch to 1 foot) Doll's House Shop. I designed and built the upper floors from scratch to represent the front rooms of the imagined town house over a shop - the shop itself was built from a kit. Check out next week for the decorated tree, and hopefully I'll find time to light it as well!
