Mighty Mouse...
It's a ROPA Maus self-propelled cleaner loader actually... another huge and hugely expensive machine large scale farming needs to load up the sugar beet into trucks for the journey to the sugar factory at Bury St Edmunds... Contractors operating these machines make them pay... They cost about £360,000 and one machine over five seasons loaded 1 million tons of beet... that's 34,000 truck loads. And it does it quickly too... 29 tons in three minutes.
Half of this field has already been drilled and it will all be finished tomorrow.
The extra is for #tractortuesday, after lifting and ploughing this New Holland T7.270 got to work with a power harrow.
This afternoon I met Claire in Cambridge for a bit more Christmas shopping.
