Afternoon light (Day 1314)
A heavy hail shower disturbed my sleep in the early hours of the morning, and later, as I wandered up the hill at dawn I crunched through a scattering of hailstones lying on the path.
A bit later on I zoomed through to Stromness to make a start on re-fitting a shower. The tray had cracked and was leaking, and the wet wall had been damaged by water ingress.
By lunchtime, I had got the tray, enclosure and wet wall out, and cut out the rotten floor boards. I headed for town to collect a new shower tray and some flooring and on the way back to the job noticed that the light over Hoy was fabulous. I took a bit of a detour and stopped briefly at the shore to get a quick shot on my phone. I should have taken the camera with me today.
Back at the job I set about fixing the floor and getting the shower tray stuck down. Tomorrow I will be fitting new wet wall, hopefully it will go well and I will be home in time to spend a bit of time with my beautiful wife.
