Good company

The Christmas lights were being hung. The boys had plans with friends scheduled for the entire day. So I took some time to celebrate the first day of December, and entry of the last month of 2012 with some time outdoors. Michigan is filled with miles of natural beauty; woodlands, flower-filled meadows, and the Great Lakes.

One of my favorite places to visit is a local metropark. During the colder months, birds have been trained to eat right out of the palm of your hand. Several chickadees, woodpeckers and other birds followed me as I enjoyed a peaceful walk. This one in particular followed me along the hike.

Later I enjoyed dinner and fun movie with one of my favorite friends. There's not a better way to begin a month.
