Straight to the castle!

My folks came to Edinburgh today for a wee visit to the castle and a bit of Christmas shopping.

As Friday was St Andrew's Day, Historic Scotland offered free tickets to the castle this weekend. Tickets were scarce, so you had to apply online in advance. We did and we managed to bag three tickets. We figured out that it's been about 20 years since we've been in! At £14.50 each it's no wonder. Today though it was a lovely free treat.

We then went to the christmas markets, ate venison burgers, enjoyed festive Starbucks drinks (again with free vouchers) and shopped. A lovely day in all! I'm now sat with my feet up on the sofa.
