Waxwing

A birder friend of mine telephoned the other day and was saying how he had seen quite a few waxwings. None here, I reported. But today they arrived!

I'm a bit disappointed in this slightly fuzzy and overstretched shot. I had the dog with me and it isn't easy to keep the camera still when you have a dog tugging on a lead. Also, although I got quite close to the birds, they were silhouetted against a very bright, frosty sky. Still, you get the gist.
