xmas in Hanoi

This is the only photo I took today, returning to our hotel after supper. The staff are very proud of their Xmas decorations which they were putting up when we checked in. Hanoi is hard to describe. You want to photograph everything but end up not even taking your camera out of your bag as the colours, sights and sounds are such a riot, a cacophony, an assault on your senses that you just don't know where to look or focus. I love it. It's funky and modern and ancient and decrepit and everything just rubs along together. My picture shows none of this. Maybe tomorrow.
