Rydal Cave
Each year in December our community choir, Lakelend Voice, walks to Rydal Cave at night to sing in its beautiful acoustic. Once inside we light about 100 candles on the sides of the cavern, then stand in the centre to sing. We also take 'cave food' to eat together - always a memorable occasion.
It actually happened on Tuesday, but I have already Blipped for that day, so I have unashamedly altered the metadata on the image, which was taken with my phone.
I include links to two songs we sang on the night: Curly Hark, which is Hark the Herald Angels with twiddly bits; and Plovi Barko, a Croation folk song. They are best listened to using headphones to capture the ambiance inside the cave. The character in the photo is our charismatic choir leader, David Burbidge.
