Advent

When L and K were little, I introduced them to the Phil Spector Christmas Album, and it makes me happy to see them maintain the family tradition of playing it when the Christmas tree is being decorated, as they did today since L was home from Glasgow. My parental heart was stirred further, by hearing L singing along with the lead vocals at full volume, either matching their delivery or adding her own flourishes. The advent calendar we've had since they were little also came out, and was double-loaded with Lindor for the two days that L is here. It's reassuring in many ways that our modern young women of 15 and 18 still value all these traditions.
