Tate Modern
We were down in London to visit a gallery where one of Sharon's pictures was being displayed as part of the PAGB's Masters of Print for 2018. This was a selection of 60 prints, with a limit of one per photographer, taken from the creme of UK amateur photography, and it was an achievement to be selected.
The presentation wasn't until the afternoon and we decided to use the morning to have a look around Tate Modern. We saw some "interesting" art and had a good look around London from the viewing gallery at the top.
In the afternoon we went back to the gallery for the opening ceremony and prizegiving before wending our way back over the river to Bank Tube Station and back to King's Cross from the train home. The main blip is the Walkie Talkie building taken from near the monument to the Great Fire of London.
We just managed to make the camera club competition, arriving just five minutes late after stopping for fish and chips on the way through from Leeds and eating them in a car park. It was worth the effort, with Sharon picking up a highly commended and a commended, and Tim getting a third and a highly commended.
For those who might be in London, the PAGB Masters of Print is on display at the RK Burt Gallery on Union Street for the next week.
