Oyster Meister
So, here's something I learned today: there is such a thing as a qualification for experts on Oysters.
Tonight we went to one of my former regular haunts for our Pre Christmas dinner with the inlaws. A very nice affair with good food and wine after a rather chilly but fun Christmas event hosted by M's school. On the way out I notice a wall full of certificates, telling me that a few of the staff are certified "oyster meisters".
Apart from Atomic bombs, Hiroshima is famous in Japan for its oysters. I allergic to seafood, so oysters are not really part of my sphere of knowledge, but I certainly didn't know there were enough varieties to merit a sommelier type qualification. You live and learn!
