Dahlia

We made good use of a warm and almost windless day. 
I've been helping Doug with a drain thingi he is putting in around our garden edge.  With so much rain in recent weeks, the water has struggled to drain away.  Trench dug out before we went to Wellington, today laying some fancy cloth with teeny holes in said trench, then wheelbarrow shingle/stones into said trench.  Took all day, tomorrow we will replace the dirt over the top and tidy.  
In between times when I was surplus to requirements I tidied the roses and cut back the irises and Grannies Bonnets - 
- two residents with sore backs tonight.
This originally was a red dahlia, but now its pink and sliced into five panels.
