A Piece of Cake!

Our library is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Tonight was also the time for  First Friday Art Walk and they hosted a show by printmakers and book artists. These  four "books" are all cake! the covers, the pages, the bookmark--even the photos in the album are printed on fondant. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to sample the cake, but hopefully there was enough Bret Harte, Ayn Rand and James Comey to serve everyone.

All of main street downtown was very busy and festive--lots of families and shoppers and people just roaming from store to store, meeting friends, having drinks or dinner, looking at art. We came across a lively group of young people, many of whom were dressed in wonderful animal costumes. One of the girls told me they just do it for fun every month for First Friday.
